FarmDroid FD20 is a fully‑autonomous, solar‑powered field robot engineered for precision seeding, mechanical weeding, and optional micro-spraying. It uses RTK GPS downstream of ultra‑precise seed placement (8 mm accuracy) to know exactly where to weed, even before plant emergence.
Solar-powered, CO₂‑neutral operation: Four solar panels generate up to 1.6 kWh, powering two batteries for 18–24 hours of continuous field work (~5 ha/day).
Lightweight & soil-friendly: Weighs 900–1 250 kg (depending on configuration), minimizing compaction and preserving soil structure.
Precision seeding (+Seed): A 3D-printed seed disc meets required plant populations, while sensors detect jams or container issues.
Mechanical weeding (+Weed): Performs both inter-row and intra-row weeding based on known seed positions, independent of camera systems.
Optional micro-spraying (+Spray): Applies herbicides or fungicides only where needed, reducing chemical use by up to 94 %.
