Founded in 2017, Kiwibot is a Colombian startup specializing in sidewalk robotic delivery. The company made its first delivery under the UC Berkeley SkyDeck program and has since built over 400 robots, completing more than 150,000 orders.

Kiwibot designs its robots in Colombia and operates globally, with presence in the United States, Australia, Colombia, Taiwan, and Dubai. On campuses like UC Berkeley and Stanford, and in cities such as San Jose, the delivery system typically uses a fleet with three distinct robot types for different segments of the path—culminating in the small four-wheeled Kiwibot that navigates the final stretch to the customer. These robots can carry up to five orders at once, and deliveries average around 27 minutes. They feature animated digital eyes and are activated by the customer to open the hatch.

Safety and autonomy are achieved through computer vision, GPS, and sensor-based obstacle avoidance, enabling navigation on sidewalks and pedestrian pathways.

Beyond deliveries, Kiwibot offers versatile robot models: autonomous delivery units for campuses and cities, robots for advertising with animated screens and wraps, cargo robots for warehouses, and an all-terrain robotic “dog” for surveillance and promotional uses.
